Phit for a Queen: A Female Athlete Podcast

You don't have to stop running

May 21, 2021

Stephanie Mundt is a physical therapist and running coach in Scottsdale, AZ. Her business, Volante PT and Performance specializes in helping female runners recover and return to training and competition without fear of re-injury. Steph was a distance runner in high school and college, struggling with an eating disorder that contributed to repetitive bone stress injuries. She hopes to transform and improve the management of running-related injuries in females to foster a greater sense of resiliency and empowerment among these athletes.

"The fear of being told to stop running has kept me & runners I know from getting help when aches or pains pop up because running is so much more than a form of exercise. It's a way to unwind from the day or week, to push yourself harder and further than you ever thought possible and a space where you can be truly free.  But the good news is this: with many running-related injuries, you don't have to stop - you may just need guidance in modifications. At the same time, your body adapts & heals."
