The Adaptable Athlete Podcast
RED-S and Bone Stress Injuries
Dr. Steph Mundt is a physical therapist, running coach, and strength coach in Phoenix, AZ. Her business, Volante PT and Performance specializes in helping female runners return to training and racing without fear.
Steph has a special interest in helping to prevent and manage bone stress injuries in runners, particularly those with disordered eating or relative energy deficiency, or RED-s, as they are commonly known. She hopes to transform pain, injury, and training management to foster a greater sense of resiliency and confidence in female runners from adolescence through adulthood.
Guys, I really enjoyed recording this episode w/ Steph. We get into a lot of topics here. We discuss:
• RED-S and potential effects on athletes and their performance
• Strength and conditioning considerations for runners or anyone working with runners
• Steph's personal journey with RED-S and how it affects her practice
Of course, we get into much more than that. I hope you enjoy the episode as much as I did recording it...Enjoy the show!
